NEW DESK

Very excited to have ordered my new desk. Since I will be going back to University in September I needed a desk that I could use for study and freelance work and absolutely fell in love with this. I think it will be a classic piece that I can take with me if I ever manage to get my own place.

The desk is designed by Steuart Padwick, furniture designer and maker, product developer and comes from made.com. It has to go partly across my window so I didn't want anything too solid, and there will be space to store my laptop inside. Now I just have to wait 10 weeks for it to be delivered....!

CRAFTY LIST OF THINGS TO DO

Inspired by Makesomething.ca, I have decided that my first post will be one of intention... my crafty list of things to do. So where to start!! I do not doubt that I will add to this post so see it as a work in progress.

• Make 4 skirts for summer cycling
• Sew 5 dresses in one summer
• Learn to make underwear
• Learn to make jam and chutney
• Design and prototype a collection of jewellery for sale on Etsy
• Learn to crochet
• Finish knitting two cardigans
• Take more photos and organise onto flicker (OK so not strictly speaking crafty)
• Make a kimono robe
• Make my first pair of trousers and shorts
• Build a terrarium
• Learn to screen print and make something from fabric I have printed
• Make my notice / ticket board
• Learn silk shading embroidery
• Make a coat and blazer – first jackets!
• Design my first knitting pattern
• Make accessories for my Nikon camera – strap, padded bag etc.
• Learn to make t-shirts
• Learn to use ceramic transfers to make unique crockery set
• Learn to make bread
• Knit a blanket
• Finish my first knitted socks
